HEALTHY TRAVEL ESSENTIALS | My Secret to Feeling Great on The Go

Girls, as many of you saw, my video was taken down this week because of the supplement information I shared. So I thought, why not bring it here to the blog, a of safe space where I can share it all with you in detail.

Pinky promise, it’s not overwhelming once you see how I’ve broken it down. Think of this as my secret travel toolkit- the little collection that keeps me and my family feeling strong, calm, and ready to truly enjoy our trip.

So many of these you’ve heard me talk about before, but I wanted to gather them all together in one place. Whether you’re planning a big family vacation, gearing up for back-to-school, or simply wanting to stay supported during cold and flu season, this is exactly what I pack in my wellness kit.

And just as always, this is my personal routine. Please remember to check with your healthcare provider (or with me if you’re one of my clients) before adding anything new.

Immune Supportive Staples

Colloidal Silver
This one has been in my bag for years. It’s traditionally used in natural wellness for its cleansing and topical benefits, and I find it so helpful for little first-aid moments like scrapes, blisters, or even sunburn. I love the Silver Wings brand and also Dr. Green Mom’s. I keep both the liquid and the gel form handy.

Grapefruit Seed Extract
This is one of my favorite travel must-haves. Grapefruit seed extract has been studied for its antimicrobial and antifungal properties, and it also supports gut health, which is key when you’re eating out a lot. I’ll sometimes add a few drops to juice in the morning or even use it when washing produce. Mary Ruth’s makes a glycerin-based version that can be taken under the tongue, and I love having that one on hand.

Olive Leaf Extract
If I notice anyone in the family starting to feel run down — maybe a sniffle or a little cough — this is the first thing I reach for. Olive leaf has natural compounds with immune-boosting and antiviral activity, and I personally see such a difference. Last year when I overdid it, this was part of the protocol that helped me bounce back from a fever in just one day.

Oil of Oregano & Andrographis
These are my heavy hitters. Oil of oregano is traditionally used in herbal medicine for its antimicrobial properties, and it has been studied for its immune-supportive effects. Andrographis is a powerful adaptogen, which means it helps your body respond to stress and find balance. It’s especially known for supporting respiratory and liver health, both of which are so important when you’re traveling. I’ll usually mix these into juice, and it feels like extra insurance when we’re on the go.

Turkey Tail Mushroom
If you’ve been with me for a while, you know I adore functional mushrooms. Turkey tail is incredible for the gut microbiome and helps regulate immune response. It’s rich in beta-glucans, which are known for supporting immune balance. I’ll often open a capsule into tart cherry magnesium powder for the kids — it tastes delicious and they don’t even notice it’s in there.

Micronutrients & Antioxidants

Vitamin D3 + K2
This is non-negotiable. Vitamin D is essential for immune resilience, and pairing it with K2 supports calcium balance and bone health. I bring a liposomal liquid form so all four of us can share one bottle.

Electrolytes
Hydration is key when flying. I love Element packets at home, but for travel I prefer Eden Ionic Electrolytes. Since they’re liquid, I can easily add them to our morning wellness drink along with probiotics or vitamin C.

Vitamin C
A classic for a reason. Vitamin C supports collagen production, cellular repair, and immune function. I bring a liquid version that tastes like sour candy and is so easy to get into the kids.

Vitamin A (Liquid)
This one is more of a “just in case.” Vitamin A is essential for mucosal integrity and immune defense. I don’t use it daily, but I never travel without it.

Botanicals & Natural Remedies

Propolis Spray
A staple in my carry-on. Propolis is rich in antioxidants and has traditionally been used to support throat and immune health. I love giving everyone a quick spray before we board a flight.

Rescue Remedies (Flower Essences)
If you’ve ever had big feelings while traveling, you’ll understand why I love these. Flower essences are gentle, natural remedies that help calm the nervous system and support emotional balance. They’re also wonderful for children.

Echinacea & Elderberry
These two botanicals are a powerhouse combo. Research suggests they can support the body in fighting off seasonal illnesses, and I find that when I use them early, they shorten the duration of colds.

Iodine
Iodine is essential for thyroid health, and I also bring it along for travel days. Supporting thyroid function is key for overall energy and resilience, especially when crossing time zones.

Nervous System & Stress Support

GABA + L-Theanine
Two beautiful compounds that work synergistically to calm the mind and ease stress. Perfect for travel days when things feel busy or overwhelming.

Light Calm Blend
This is a gentle herbal blend that helps the body unwind at night without grogginess. It supports your natural melatonin rhythm so you can reset to a new time zone more easily.

5-HTP
A serotonin precursor that can support mood and sleep. I don’t always need it, but I like to have it in case anyone feels out of balance during our trip.

Additional Essentials

Xlear Nasal Spray
One of my favorite travel hacks. This saline and xylitol spray helps keep nasal passages moisturized and comfortable in dry airplane air. I always spray before flights and again when we land.

Seed Kids Daily Synbiotic
You know how much I love Seed. The kids’ version comes in easy stick packs, which makes it so simple to mix into juice. Supporting the gut is one of the most powerful ways to support the immune system.

Creatine (Stick Packs)
Not just for the gym. Creatine supports muscle recovery, energy production, and even cognitive function. Walking all day in new cities can be exhausting, so I mix a stick into our morning greens to help with stamina and focus.

Final Thoughts

It might look like a lot when you see it all written out, but when I organize it into categories it feels simple and very doable. Every tool has its purpose, and together they make me feel confident and prepared when traveling with my family.

Whether you’re prepping for back-to-school season, wanting to stay ahead of cold and flu season, or heading out on a long-awaited family adventure, curating a wellness kit like this makes such a difference.
